First CNT Sailboat Mast Released at nanoTX ’06

Zyvex Corporation announced the world’s first sailboat mast using carbon nanotubes. The mast, unveiled last week at the nanoTX ’06 tradeshow in Dallas, incorporates Zyvex’s NanoSolve® materials to improve yacht performance by significantly increasing the strength and stiffness of the mast without adding weight. The mast was built for the new Synergy 350 RL.

Governor Rounds (TX) Announces Co-Op with Zyvex Corp.

Governor Mike Rounds announced a cooperative agreement with Zyvex Corporation of Richardson, Texas, to establish a Nanomaterials Prototyping, Testing and Characterization Facility at the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology’s Polymer Processing Center (SDSM&T-PPC). Under this agreement, Zyvex will immediately open its first satellite facility in Rapid City, South Dakota. Zyvex-South Dakota will initially manufacture pilot-scale quantities of Zyvex’s NanoSolve® material.

Zyvex and Arkema Strengthen Partnership

Zyvex and Arkema announced their intention to strengthen their strategic partnership by jointly developing commercial nanomaterials applications. Through a new licensing arrangement, Arkema will use Zyvex’s patented Kentera™ dispersion technology, in conjunction with its own Multi Wall Carbon Nanotubes (MWNTs). Arkema will also be the exclusive distributor in Europe of Zyvex’s NanoSolve® product line.
